Involved in Rp. 310 million fraud, the former police chief in Cirebon was removed from his position
The West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar) removed AKP Supai Warna from the position of Head of the Mundu Sector Police, Cirebon, because he was suspected of being involved in fraud.
Residents who were victims of Supai are said to have lost up to IDR 310 million.
"Currently, Brother SW himself has been transferred from the Mundu Police. The person concerned is currently undergoing a criminal investigation as well as a code of ethics," said the Head of Public Relations of the West Java Regional Police, Kombes Ibrahim Tompo in Bandung, Sunday (18/6/2023), as reported by Antara.
Ibrahim explained that the victim, who works as a porridge seller, was suspected of being deceived by the lure of being able to help pass people through the selection process for members of the Indonesian National Police.
The victim is said to have asked for accountability since 2021, but has not received clarity.
Until finally in February 2023 the alleged fraud was reported to the West Java Regional Police's Professional and Security Division.
Ibrahim said that four people had been investigated in relation to this alleged fraud.
"The report in Propam itself was reported on February 23, 2023 and is also currently being processed. However, because this is related to a crime, the trial for the code of ethics is being held pending the results of the criminal verdict, we are responding decisively and objectively," he said.
Ibrahim further regretted that there were police officers who used Polri's recruitment activities as a mode of fraud.
He emphasized that the recruitment process is very strict and cannot be penetrated or influenced by anyone.
Apart from that, he also appealed to the public not to trust anyone who promises to pass the Polri recruitment process without going through the applicable regulations.
If someone makes a promise, Ibrahim ensures that it is confirmed to be a lie.
