Former OPM Asks KKB to Return to NKRI's Arms: There's No Meaning in Fighting at Any Time

- Former combatant Free Papua Organization (OPM) Herman Yoku asked the members Armed Criminal Group (KKB) to return to the Republic of Indonesia. KKB only drains energy with uncertain goals and instead they can become victims.

"I beg you, brothers and sisters in the forest and mountain valleys, come back. Wake up Papua. There is no meaning in fighting until whenever, I say this because I am a combatant," he said, Monday (5/6/2023).

According to him, he used to be a combatant by diplomacy abroad, unlike the KKB which was full of blood on their hands.
"I did diplomacy abroad but there was no help. Today you were deceived, you became a victim when you faced the Indonesian National Police. Be aware of yourself and return to the Unitary Republic of Indonesia as a good citizen," he said.

He emphasized that there was no sympathy from outside countries for the struggle for an independent Papua. He also appreciated the law enforcement efforts made by TNI-Polri officers against KKB in Papua.
"Once again, I beg you to return, brothers and sisters in the forest and mountain valleys," he said.

According to him, the recent commemoration of Pancasila Day can be a momentum for all Papuan people to maintain security and peace within the framework of the Republic of Indonesia.
Herman Yoku also invited the Papuan people who have different ideologies to introspect on their own deficiencies and convey them to the government.

It is known that Herman Yoku is a former OPM who experienced the Army Military Detention Center in Kloofkamp, North Jayapura District, Jayapura City from 1979 to 1983. He has now returned to the Republic of Indonesia and has become a prominent figure in the Papuan community.
Herman also appreciated the TNI-Polri for taking various approaches to embrace the KKB to return to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. However, this was ignored, so he asked that law enforcement be strictly enforced against anyone who violated it. Because this country is a country of laws. Everyone is equal in the eyes of the law.
