Visited by a Tax Officer with a Debt Collector, Soimah: I Was Treated As If I Was a Corruptor

The versatile artist Soimah Pancawati or Soimah shared an unpleasant experience she received from an unscrupulous tax official.

The unpleasant incident that he experienced happened not just once.

"In 2015, when I came to my house, the tax person opened the fence without kulonuwun (excuse me) suddenly at the door as if I wanted to run away," Soimah said as quoted from YouTube Blakasuta.

Soimah also feels that she is always suspected by the tax officials for whatever she does.

Even Soimah has to keep all her spending notes.

"At that time, it was successful at the start, if there was a lot of money, my first task was to make me happy, to help my family. Is it okay to help my family? I was asked for a gold note," said Soimah.

"Well, when I help you, you use a note, so you don't believe 'cook helps a brother this big', yo, my karep to (it's up to me). So you have to use a note, that's in 2015," he added.

Not only that, the pavilion which at that time had not yet been completed, the purpose of which was to accommodate artists, was also subject to tax assessments.

"This pavilion has not yet been built, it is already surrounded by tax people. Visited, measured, from 10.00 am to 05.00 pm, surveyed the pavilion," said Soimah.

"Is this a tax person or a carpenter? Why are you measuring from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm, arep ngopo (what do you want). In the end, the hall was appraised for nearly Rp. 50 billion, even though I just didn't know how much it would cost," he continued.

When she found out that the pavilion she had built was valued at almost Rp. 50 billion, Soimah felt confused, whether she was sad or happy.

"On the other hand I'm sad, how come that is possible, on the other hand I'm happy. I'm happy like this, if it sells Rp. 50 billion, tukunen, I'm lucky that I'll just pay taxes, tukunen nek payu Rp. 50 billion," said Soimah.

Soimah also revealed the attitude of unscrupulous tax officers who visited her house in Jogja with debt collectors.

He was accused of deliberately avoiding the tax officials by always not being at home, even though Soimah was indeed working in Jakarta.

"So my position is often in Jakarta, at home the KTP address is where my in-laws are, always visited, you always get letters, you think about it, don't understand anything," said Soimah.

"Finally a tax person came to my sister's place, brought a debt collector, brought two, hit the table, it was at my sister's house," he continued.

Even though she regretted the actions of the unscrupulous tax officer, Soimah said she was still obedient in paying taxes.

"Soimah won't run away, you can look for her, don't worry, you will definitely pay, but treat her well," said Soimah.

"I work as a result of toil, a long process, my own sweat, not the result of theft, not the result of corruption, how come I am treated as if I am ****, I am a corruptor," he regretted.

"Lha masak aku bantu saudara pakai nota, jadi enggak percaya 'masak bantu saudara segini besarnya', yo sak karepku to (terserah aku dong).

Kok ngukur jam 10.00 pagi sampai 05.00 sore, arep ngopo (mau ngapain).
