Indonesia Cancels Hosting the U-20 World Cup, Gibran: Starting Tomorrow You Don't Have to Discuss the U-20 Again
Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka expressed his disappointment over Indonesia's cancellation of hosting the U-20 World Cup.
Through the Twitter social media account @gibran_tweet, the eldest son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) wrote that he no longer wanted to discuss the U-20 World Cup.
He has also asked the Persis Solo development team to use the Manahan Stadium, which was previously prepared for the U-20 World Cup.
"Wes, yes (already yes). Starting tomorrow, discuss U-20 meneh (starting tomorrow, you don't need to discuss U-20 anymore). Focus on @persisofficial wae seng maine is consistently good (just focus on Persis Solo who is playing more consistently)," Gibran tweeted, which was uploaded shortly after the official announcement from FIFA regarding the cancellation, on Wednesday (29/3/2023) evening.
Previously, Gibra had said not to hope and get ready to be sad about the uncertainty of the U-20 World Cup in Indonesia.
"Everything has been prepared. The artists have been prepared. In the past, who asked for K-Pop and others. Get ready to be sad," said Gibran at the Solo DPRD, Wednesday (29/3/2023) afternoon.
He also revealed that all preparations had been made by the Solo City Government, starting from the match venues, companion fields, to accompanying events that were ready to be used and carried out.
"Everything has been prepared. It's really ripe. But don't expect much, because the situation is like this," he said.
