The draw for the 2023 U-20 World Cup in Bali has been officially cancelled

Exco PSSI, Arya Sinulingga, delivered it at a press conference at the GBK Arena on Sunday (26/3/2023) afternoon WIB. Arya conveyed this while accompanied by the General Chairperson of PSSI, Erick Thohir, who is also the Head of the Local Committee (LOC) for the 2023 U-20 World Cup.
"Yesterday, FIFA conveyed through the LOC that the draw for the U-20 World Cup, which was supposed to be held in Bali, was cancelled. Although no official letters have been sent, the message is clear about that," said Arya.
Furthermore, Arya explained that the cancellation of the group stage draw was carried out due to the rejection of the arrival of the Israel National Team to the Island of the Gods by the Governor of Bali, I Wayan Koster. In fact, the raffle cannot be held if all participants do not participate.
"Because of the rejection from the Governor of Bali who refused the Israeli team's arrival. Meanwhile, the drawing cannot be done if all participants do not participate," he added.
Arya also revealed that until now there has been no information on where and when the draw will be held again.

To note, previously the Coordinator of Save Our Soccer (SOS), Akmal Marhali, revealed that FIFA had canceled the draw for the 2023 U-20 World Cup group stage which was planned to be held in Bali on March 31, 2023. This was reportedly caused by the issue of the rejection of the arrival of the Israeli national team to the country which was carried out by a number of parties.
FIFA has reportedly informed the LOC about this. However, FIFA is said to have yet to reveal the cause. Akmal also considered that this was a serious matter.
"Cancelling the drawing is not a simple matter. FIFA sees that there is a big problem in Indonesia, so they cancel important activities related to the U-20 World Cup. The government must take this seriously," said Akmal.
