Jakarta - A young man from Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Benaia Manasseh Lintjewas was declared to have graduated into the United States (US) army. Based on detikcom's records, Benaia is still an Indonesian citizen. 

This 21-year-old man casually enrolled in the US Army and apparently got the highest score in his class. How much is Benaia's salary in the US Army? 



Reporting from the goarmy.com page, Friday (24/3/2023), US army salaries are calculated based on a formula combining rank and length of service. The bigger the rank, the bigger the salary. 

If you don't get promoted, your salary will increase over the period of service. There are 4 categories of service periods ranging from less than 2 years, 4 years, 6 years and 8 years. 

While ranks in the armed forces in the US are divided into 3 groups. Starting from class E or Enlisted (Tamtama), W or Warrant (High Commissioner), O or Officers (Officers). 

For the lowest position, E1 alias Private with a tenure of under 2 years gets an annual salary of US$ 23,011. If divided over 12 months, a soldier with the position of E1 will receive a salary of US$ 1,917 per month or around Rp. 29.4 million (in an exchange rate of Rp. 15,300). For completeness, the following lists the annual military payroll in the US for all ranks and positions with less than 2 years of service:
