ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE TELLS A LOVE STORY BETWEEN MILES and GWEN

The relationship between Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy is at the heart of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. While there's a lot to be excited about in the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse – new heroes and universes to explore – the behind-the-scenes filmmakers haven't forgotten the “character development” that is so important when it comes to continuing the adventures of Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen. . According to Sony Pictures boss Amy Pascal, young love will be in the air between the Spider-Verse heroes, with a bit of a love triangle mixed in for some added drama.

"The danger with sequels is to go bigger only for the greater good," Amy Pascal told Empire Magazine. "But all the bells and whistles are useless unless you care." He then added, "This film is a love story between Miles and Gwen."

Another hero, Daniel Kaluuya's Hobie Brown/Spider-Punk, seems to be the third wheel in the love story Sony is creating. We learn that Gwen has been spending a lot of time with Spider-Punk in New London, which causes jealousy in Miles. "There's some jealousy there," said co-director Kemp Powers. "When Miles sees Gwen again, she's not wearing her ballet flats; she's wearing Converse Chuck Taylors, which Spider-Punk gave him. Miles starts to wonder, 'How close are these two?'"
