On 26 February 1987 NASA launched GEOS-H.(GOES-7)

- i️t was built as a weather satellite, and formed part of the US NOAA's Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite system.

- operated by NOAA until 1999, then by Peacesat using it as a communications satellite over the Pacific Ocean- for the Pacific Islands.

- it was decommissioned and moved to a graveyard orbit on 12 April 2012.
