Jakarta International “Retractable Roof” Stadium, 82,000 capacity
- Largest capacity retractable roof stadium in Asia and the second largest retractable roof stadium by capacity in the world, just behind AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas
- The stadium complex is built on 22 hectares of land and the stadium building itself is built on 375.7 m2 (4,044 sq ft).
The roof structure will be equipped with an open and close mechanism, making the JIS the first multi-purpose stadium with a retractable roof feature. JIS will be the largest stadium in Indonesia according to FIFA standards and even become the top 10 grandest stadiums in the world, according to the Daily Mail media version based in London, England.
The technology installed in this stadium includes the lifting of the stadium roof structure with the heaviest weight being lifted simultaneously, the first stadium to use an open-closed roof system, and the first green building stadium with platinum certification.
