Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia officially holds the 2022 MotoGP world title

These results were obtained in the last round at the Valencia GP, Spain. He made history as an Italian racer who won the world title using a motorbike from an Italian manufacturer in the first world race event. 

Pecco also recorded several achievements. Among them overtake the world championship leader by 91 points, and make it as "the biggest comeback" in the history of MotoGP. 

Pecco became an Italian rider with the first Italian motorcycle manufacturer in 50 years. Previously there was Giacomo Agostini in 1972. He also became the first Italian racer after the Valentino Rossi era in 2009 to win the MotoGP title. 

Pecco is also the Ducati rider who won the title after Casey Stoner 15 years ago.
