Be careful, don't search for these 4 words on Google if you don't want to deal with the police
HOLIDAY NEWS - Don't search for these four words on Google if you don't want to be questioned by the police as experienced by a woman who lives in New York, United States. What's the story?
The story begins when a woman named Michale Catalano and her husband who live on Long Island, New York, United States were looking for ordinary household items via Google. Unfortunately, this search actually resulted in her and her husband having an unpleasant experience because they had to deal with the police.
"Looking for certain things apparently created the perfect storm for terrorism profiling," recalled Michale Catalani, quoted by Dailymail, Sunday (3/11/2024).
At that time Michale Catalano wanted to buy a high pressure cooker using Google. At the same time, her husband was also looking for a new backpack. The two conducted separate searches on the internet for items they wanted that would not normally raise concerns among police.
However, her husband typed in the keywords for both items from his office computer two days later, right before he resigned from his job.
IT staff at her husband's company saw the search and reported it to the Suffolk County Police Department. Coincidentally, the Boston Marathon bombing incident that occurred on April 15 2013 also used the same equipment, namely a high pressure cooker carried in a large backpack.
"As a result of an accidental internet search, several black SUVs came to the couple's house to ensure that they were not suspected terrorists," said the Dailymail.
So, if you don't want the police to come to your house, avoid searching these four words at the same time on Google, namely "pressure cooker bomb" and "backpack".
Long Island, New York, Amerika Serikat sedang mencari barang-barang rumah tangga biasa via Google.
