Actor Vin Diesel will be returning for his fourth film in the Riddick franchise, Riddick: Furya
The new film is written and directed by David Thowy, who first teamed up with Diesel in 2000 and continues the sci-fi franchise due to sequels, The Chronicles of Riddick (2004) and Riddick (2013).
According to Variety, Diesel will star in and produce the new film under his One Race Films banner, with Samantha Vincent also producing.
According to the film's official description, Furya has finally found Riddick back in his home world, a place he barely remembers and which the Necromongers fear he will leave behind.
But there, he finds other Furyans fighting for their existence against new foes and some of these Furyans are more like Riddick than he could have ever imagined.
"Our legions of fans have been demanding it for years, and now we are finally ready to honor their call to action with Riddick: Furya," Twohy said in a statement announcing the project.
"My collaboration with Vin and One Race has been going on for 20 years, because together we have made three films, two video games, an anime production, and a motion comic," said Twohy again.
As for Riddick: Furya, Twohy revealed that the film will return to Riddick's original world, where the audience will explore Riddick's origins.
